Bike Cochrane - Building Capacity through Women in Coaching

Bike Cochrane used their 2024 Take the Lead funding to support two of their women members to take their Professional Mountain Bike Instructor Association (PMBIA) Level 1 Coaching Certification. This opportunity not only has provided two women to gain their certifications, but in addition the organization hopes that having more women in leadership roles will empower more women and girls to participate in all aspects of mountain biking whether through coaching, coordinating, and being visible role models within the organization. 

Bike Cochrane not only gained two new coaches, but now has additional capacity and expertise to run more programming options for everyone. These new coaches led the spring session of Bike Cochrane’s kids camps and are working on coordinating and supporting the second year of the Bike Cochrane Ride, Empower, Connect (REC) women’s mountain bike camp!
